Turkey is one of the country which was hit by terrorism and then later it was considered volatile because of neighbouring war laden countries like Syria and Iraq. The vast majority of towns in Turkey are perfectly safe to visit!
 
Becuase of the war in Syria and Iraq, many countries have kept a close watch on changing scenarios in Turkey and have kept it on amber alert for the tourist visiting there. Moreover, due to volatile political situation, it is also prone to riots, protests and accidents in major cities. 
 
So far in Istanbul, there has not been any major incident in Turkey. But still one should be cautious travelling near the border areas in Turkey.
 
  • Be careful while travelling and keep your ears and eyes open
  • Stay away from demonstration and demonstrations
  • Stay in touch with your embassy and the alerts issued by them
  • Keep emergency numbers handy
  • In case of emergency, do not hesitate contacting Turkish officials
