Malaga International Airport
Malaga Airport, officially known as Malaga Costa del Sol Aiport is the fourth busiest airport in Spain. It is one of the important airports for Spanish tourism and the main hub for serving the Costa Del Sol. It is around 8 km from southwest Malaga and 5 km from Torremolinos. The airport accounts for 85 percent of international traffic coming to Andalucia. It has the capacity of around 20 million passengers per annum and connects the city with over 60 countries worldwide and 100 cities in Europe. Many direct flights operate to and from Africa, North America and the Middle East.
Terminals at Malaga International Airport
Terminal 1 - This terminal is not in use since the inauguration of new Terminal 3. All the facilities are closed.
Terminal 2 - Terminal 2 also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso Terminal was opened in 1991 and was developed to operate along with Terminal 3. Terminal 2 now has check-in and arrival terminal for both EU and non-Schengen flights. It has checked in for Easyjet, Ryanair, and Easyjet Switzerland. It has three levels, basement, ground and first level with all amenities from boarding gates to security checkpoints and other services.
Terminal 3 - The terminal opened in March 2010 and was built to handle the increasing population of tourists visiting Costa del Sol area. The terminal has the capacity to handle over 30 million passengers annually. Malaga has three level Ground level, first level and second level. They have check-in gates, VIP lounges and boarding areas.
